Retal was a medium-scale Russian entity with a turnover of $80 million at the time it was purchased from EBRD and other private owners in 2004. Due to established internal procedures and PCH’s strategic support, Retal subsequently grew to one of the largest PET-preforms producers with several subsidiaries throughout Europe reaching a turnover of $750 million in 2007.
Retal owned 23 plants and over 40 dealer outlets across 11 European countries with preforms production capacity totaling 12 billion pieces per annum.
The share of Retal on the European markets grew to 14% by 2011 and its Russian market share increased to 40%.
Retal was part of an overall partly implemented integration strategy with upstream PET granulate production.
Retal was sold in 2007.
